Thats it for now, more later...
Broke down just north of Weed. The oil filler cap fell off and covered me in hot engine oil.
It took a few days to get the part, but everythings back in order and we are in Santa Rosa now.
Battery in laptop is almost dead, so we will post more when we find a place to plug in. There are lots of interesting things to come.

Grants Pass
Paul Bunyan and Oregon Cave Man
The Oregon Caveman is the mascot for Grants Pass, and there is a group of people who dress up like Cavemen and play tricks during celebrations and city events all over the West coast. They try to spread the word about Grants Pass to entice visitors to come.

Camping under freeway
Never, ever, EVER camp at Amacher Campsite in Grants Pass. It's right under I-5, and it's LOUD.
At least the had showers...

Noah's arc, creepy Santa-Noah
Magic Mushrooms
It was closed when we got there, so maybe we'll check it out on our way back. |
This was in the window by the door. That's one cool pig. |
Taking a rest on his way down the yellow-brick road... |
This speaks for itself. |

Rain delay, new gear for Ashley
Forecast calls for unusual rain and thunderstorms all over the west coast until Wednesday. We took the time to buy Ashley one more item for the trip. A $200 visit to the eye doctor. She's been asking for months. Now she can finally see the ground as it screams by under her feet at 70MPH. I think she will take the glasses off, if its a tree coming at her at 70MPH.

Fathers day ride to hills
Great day for a ride. We started at the Pour House on 42nd and went out Japser down to some crazy one lane roads in the woods that led to Oakridge at one point. Too much snow so we turned around and went into glide for lunch. Afterwards we headed back out to cottage grove, but ran into more snow on the back side of the Bohemian mines and had to turn around again and go a new way. Lots of fun, there was a 20 mile detour on a squirley gravel road leading to more snow. The drop off on the side must have been over a thousand feet. 50MPH in the gravel seemed crazy to me, but the guys on the other bikes didnt even have knobby tires. If they could do it, so could I. I was glad to turn around.
Here are the bikes. Two KLRS, a BMW, a VStrom, and something else....Dont remember...
View from one of the peaks.
Apparently there was cat poo on this bridge. One of the other guys found it. It was a long topic of discussion at lunch about what kind it was.
This is the start of the gravel. Lots of fun.
First road that was closed due to snow. Going to steamboat Falls.
The falls is actually a camp ground. Way out in no-where. Last pic is of the first snow closed road. We didnt stop long enough to take a pic at Bohemia, but the snow was even deeper.
I think I have the GPS tracks. I will upload the track if I can figure out how so you guys can see where we went.
